Invisible

INVISIBLE

Are we invisible? Are we translucent, like a frozen window that they can't even see beyond? They can't even feel that we are here. Do we not matter? Or is that how they treat everyone once they find the love of their lives? Do the rest of us mean nothing to them? Do they get blindsided when the love of their life is around? Or are we that shallow? Or are we so awake that only we can see and feel it? They show off their love story to everyone as if they own them, but what about the rest of us? Do we not matter? Does their attention focus only on one person? We understand their importance, but they have got to be kidding when they treat us like we do not exist; they can't see that a person is sitting alone, talking to strangers, or scrolling Instagram in their presence. Guess what? They don't fucking care because "they are surrounded by the love of their life."

You sit there alone, trying to meld into the conversation, but it doesn't work out. You just sit there with a beverage and starters in your hand and eat there silently. You listen to the conversation, you listen to them yap about how great their love life is; they don't notice you, talk to you, or acknowledge you; you look at everyone, and then you start using your phone to try to find an escape, trying not to get affected, but it does every single time. Then you hope your love wasn't lost, you wish they would have stayed, and you won't feel miserable and alone

The only thing that hurts is making efforts for them and then getting treated like trash. You know you matter to them; you know how important you are to them, yet they treat you like trash, and then everything blows off. Every happy memory turns into a dreadful memory. All the happy moments are now lost, and there is nothing you can do about it but sit silently and be invisible to them.
